HVAC Preventative Maintenance

With preventative maintenance, the important HVAC components in your system are inspected and adjusted to ensure your HVAC system is operating at it’s peak. Some are simple, some not so much, but like a great sports team, every aspect must function properly and in synch for your system to operate efficiently and to ensure a long lifespan.

The Aquino preventative maintenance process includes:

• Clean the filter and replace it if needed (customer supplied or up to 1″)
• Check that the air temperature differential between the supply and the return is within tolerance
• Inspect the disconnect point
• Inspect all of the fuses and the wiring
• Tighten all of the electrical connections
• Inspect and test the contactors for burned or pitted contacts
• Inspect and test all of the relays and pressure controls
• Check the supply voltage and amperage to all motors
• Inspect the line set and the connections for leaks
• Inspect and clean the condenser coil (we’ll need to use your hose for this)
• Inspect the duct seal at the unit and secure the panels
• Inspect the ductwork for points of energy loss

• Flush and treat the condensate drain with anti-algae tablets
• Check that the access panel is properly in place
• Clean the drain pan and evaporator coil surface
• Monitor the operating pressure of refrigerant
• Test that the refrigerant levels are within specs
• Inspect safety devices for proper operation
• Inspect the disconnect box
• Inspect and test the capacitors
• Inspect the condenser fan blade
• Inspect the service valves for proper operation
• Monitor the compressor for proper amperage draw and wiring connections
